WHEN IT'S TIME TO LET GO.
Not everything is meant to be carried for the entire journey. On the starseed path there comes a stage where moving forward no longer means discovering something new, instead it means letting go of what has reached its end. Letting go sounds simple, yet it is often one of the most difficult parts of the journey. We may hold onto things long after they have ceased to serve our well-being not because we fail to see the truth but because the familiar is bound up with history, emotions, and a sense of security.
Sometimes you hold onto a person with whom your shared path has changed. Sometimes a way of life that no longer feels like your own. Sometimes a dream you built years ago before you knew how much you yourself would change. Yet, the hardest thing of all may be letting go of the intangible the need for approval, the guilt you have carried for too long, the bitterness over past events, the hope that someone might one day understand what they did to you, or the thought that the past should have unfolded differently.
As long as you fight internally against what has already happened, a part of you remains trapped in that moment. Letting go does not mean accepting that what was done to you was right, nor does it mean forgetting. It simply means you no longer allow the past to dictate how much of the present you get to live. Sometimes you have to let go of people you still love. Not all connections end in anger; sometimes, people simply grow in different directions. Accepting this can be harder than accepting an argument or a clear breakup, because there may be no single, specific reason for it. There is simply a feeling that the shared journey is no longer continuing in the same way. In those moments love and letting go can coexist.
You can appreciate what someone brought to your life without them needing to walk beside you forever and the same applies to your past self. You do not need to hate the person you once were. That person made choices based on the understanding, strength, and awareness they possessed at the time. They stayed too long in places where they were unhappy. Perhaps they trusted the wrong people, remained silent when they should have spoken up or did things they would handle differently now. Yet they brought you to where you are today. That is why letting go can also be an act of gratitude, giving thanks for what sustained you back then and saying goodbye to what you no longer need.
Gradually space begins to open up in your life. At first, that space might feel strange; you may be so accustomed to carrying old stories, people, and emotions that their absence feels almost like a loss. Do not rush to fill the void, for not all empty space is merely emptiness, it is the first sign that there is finally room in your life for something new. On the starseed path, letting go does not mean abandoning everything earthly or destroying your old life. It means being honest about what gets to continue with you and what has reached its end. You cannot take everything with you to where you are headed, and perhaps that is precisely why life sometimes asks you to open your hands not to punish you with loss but to show you how much you have been trying to carry things that were already meant to leave. Letting go often hurts just before you realize what it sets free. Then one day you look at your hands and notice that they are not empty, them are free.
